means not confirmed. It is not the same as no.
Each line lists the stays here whose official sites confirm it. A stay that is missing is not confirmed, which is different from no.
Each page lists only the stays here that meet the rule.
Base yourself here for small towns, farm estates and cooking schools, or for a stay with a dog, if you have a car. Foggia and the Monti Dauni has 11 stays on The Puglia Edit in seven comuni, all in price band 1 (eight of them by our estimate), which means under €250 a night for a double room in high season. Look elsewhere for a beach or a first trip to Puglia, because the area is inland and only five of the 11 confirm a pool.
Italia.it puts Foggia at the center of the Tavoliere plain, halfway between the Gulf of Manfredonia and the Gargano. Its cathedral was raised in the 12th century, and chambers called hypogea run beneath the center.
Hotel Up is a 38-room city hotel with a spa, family rooms and pets allowed. For what is on in town, see Andiamo in Puglia’s page for Foggia, in Italian.
Lucera stands on three hills above the Tavoliere, and italia.it says its Swabian fortress best tells the town’s past. Masseria Sant’Agapito is a rural village of several buildings with a pool, pets welcome and weddings, and Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli, on the road from Foggia, is a five-star luxury hotel with 64 rooms, a spa and outdoor pools.
Bovino has a ducal castle that the Normans built on a Roman fortress, and Masseria Salecchia is an 18th-century masseria, once a hunting residence of the Guevara dukes, in a 350-hectare natural area it describes as protected under EU rules.
Orsara di Puglia has two stays. Peppe Zullo is an estate with a restaurant, a cooking school and suites in an 18th-century villa, and Posta Guevara is a masseria with a pool and a cooking school recognized by the Regione Puglia. For the village itself, Andiamo in Puglia has an entry on the borgo of Orsara di Puglia, in Italian.
Troia has none of our stays, though italia.it says its Romanesque cathedral has a rose window unique in the world.
In Chieuti, Masseria Casacapanna is a restored farm with seven suites it describes as sea view, a dairy and a pasta factory.
Four are masserie, three are hotels, three are resorts and one is a villa. All 11 sit in price band 1, Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli included.
Masseria Casacapanna, Masseria Sant’Agapito and Tenuta Inagro take the band from a rate published on their own sites, and the other eight are estimates. How we select explains when a band comes from a published rate.
The five that accept pets are in the pet-friendly collection, the four with a spa are in the spa retreats collection, and Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli is in the luxury collection.
Troia, where the Daunian Apennines meet the Tavoliere plain, ends its Holy Week program with the procession of the Kiss on Easter day, according to italia.it. Masseria Casacapanna lists high season as July 15 to August 31 with a minimum stay of 6 days, and Masseria Sant'Agapito lists June to September. Masseria Salecchia opens its adventure park on spring weekends and every day in summer. Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli and Hotel Novelli say they are open all year; for the other nine, opening months are not confirmed.
Fly into Bari (BRI) and hire a car there; Masseria Casacapanna's directions list Pescara or Bari for arriving by air. The 11 stays are in seven comuni across the Tavoliere plain and the hills of the Monti Dauni. Hotel Up in Foggia says it is near the station and the pedestrian area, and the others are in the countryside, in hill villages or outside small towns, so plan on a car. Each stay page shows its distance to both airports when its position is precise.

Five of the 11 accept pets. Hotel Up in Foggia, Masseria Salecchia in Bovino, Masseria Sant'Agapito in Lucera and Tenuta Inagro in San Severo allow them, and Masseria Casacapanna in Chieuti accepts small and medium pets for a daily charge. Conditions differ, so read the stay page. The pet-friendly collection lists them.
Four stays confirm a spa on their official sites: Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli near Lucera, Hotel Novelli outside Orta Nova, Hotel Up in Foggia, with a sauna, steam bath and whirlpool tubs, and Villa Giuliani Resort in Orta Nova, whose beauty center works by booking only. For the other seven, a spa is not confirmed.
Four stays say on their own sites that they host weddings: Casa Freda in Foggia, which states that civil ceremony and reception can both be held there, Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli near Lucera, with reception halls, Masseria Sant'Agapito in Lucera, and Peppe Zullo in Orsara di Puglia, which hosts one wedding at a time and states a ceremony on site.
Italia.it points to Foggia's 12th-century cathedral and the underground hypogea, the Swabian fortress of Lucera, the ducal castle of Bovino, and the Romanesque cathedral of Troia, whose rose window it calls unique in the world. The Nero di Troia is the typical local wine. Masseria Salecchia and Posta Guevara also offer farm and cooking activities.
Plan on a car. The 11 stays are in seven comuni across the Tavoliere plain and the Monti Dauni hills. Hotel Up in Foggia describes itself as near the station and the pedestrian area; the others are in the countryside, in hill villages or outside small towns. Check each stay page for transfers the property offers.
All 11 are in band 1, under €250 a night for a double room in high season. Masseria Casacapanna, Masseria Sant'Agapito and Tenuta Inagro set the band from a rate published on their own sites. For the other eight the band is an estimate, so ask the stay for a quote on your dates.
